- About East Wood Volunteer Fire Department

- Our department has two stations, our main is located on Rt. 47 in Kanawha and our substation is located on Murphytown Road.
- We cover 59 square miles that includes portions of Rt. 50, Rt. 47, and I-77. We also provide assistance on the Ohio and Little Kanawha Rivers when needed.
- Currently we have 40 active members, an auxiliary, support and honorary members. Out of our members, 14 are EMT's, and 3 are Paramedics.
- Our department received 956 calls last year for assistance with fires, car wrecks, medical, and others for good intent.
- Our appratus includes three engines, two squads, a tanker, a brush truck, two boats, and a 4 wheeler. More information about our apparatus, trucks, etc. can be found on our apparatus page.
