My Hero
by Chelsea Earls

My hero wasn't a man of steel,
Made of super powers that seemed unreal.

My hero didn't put evil to lie,
And make it well-known worldwide.

My hero didn't move mountains or split the seas,
He was a regular Joe like you and me.

My hero wasn't wealthy with silver and gold,
Just wealthy with the friendship of both young and old.

My hero I saw each Tuesday night,
Where he visited, helped out and always picked a fight.

My hero always reminisced about days gone by,
Especially the days Mary was by his side.

My hero was one, who was never at ease,
Because someone was always taking his keys.

My hero gave nicknames for funs sake,
Like Fat Boy, Marie and Jake the snake.

My hero at one time looked danger in the eye,
Which today is what we do, you and I.

Our dearest Pappy, your footprint will forever be in our hearts and in our station.
